Upskill live events take place directly on the Upskill platform on either a Tuesday or a Thursday and always from 09h00 to 10h00. Our live events will allow you to access regular online training sessions, presented by a variety of experienced content creators, across a diverse range of subject matter, directly on the Upskill platform.
The importance of lifelong learning
Upskill live events encourage lifelong learning through thought provoking topics and regular updates to your technical knowledge. By enrolling to an Upskill live event, or through the Upskill live events annual access pass, you will be able to access regular one-hour sessions in real time.
How to access live events
Upskill live events take place on the Upskill platform, through the Upskill platform course player, and if you enrolled to an Upskill live event but unable to attend, you can still access the recording of the event for up to 12 months. Join our live events mailing list and stay up to date with all our live events.
Use the CPD management tool with live events
The CPD management tool integrates with the Upskill platform. If you attend Upskill live events, your attendance will automatically sync to your profile on the CPD management tool. Use the CPD management tool to reflect on the training and to keep record all in one place.

How much does it cost?
We want to keep it simple and affordable. One rate for all live events regardless of the topic or presenter. Our live events are all priced at R 230.00 per person (incl. VAT). All live events will take place on the Upskill platform and will always be one hour long (09h00 to 10h00).
Evidence of attendance
After you attended the live events, you will be able to print your certificate of attendance directly in the Upskill course player. You might be required to complete a set of multiple questions to test your knowledge and once meeting the exit level requirements, will you be able to print your certificate for record keeping purposes.

Skill Reviews
- Review and finalise a Skill Review (SR = TSR + PSR)
- Basic vs Advanced complexity levels
- Difference between the rating difference process and when to reverse an SR to the trainee
- Know the relevant PwC & ICAZ document timeline requirements and responsibilities of the different role-players (trainees and reviewers)
- Relevant reports to track progress
Assessment Needs Analysis (ANA)
- Prepare for the one-on-one discussion: the relevant process, and responsibilities of each role-player
- The one-on-one discussion and what needs to be finalised
- Understand when and why the need for development plans in the ANA
- Know the relevant PwC & ICAZ ANA timeline requirements and responsibilities of the role-player (trainees, evaluators and assessors)
- Understand the impact of skills / tasks signed off by the Assessor = COMPETENT
- How to measure a trainee’s progress on their training programme
- Relevant reports and checks if a trainee can be discharged from his/her ICAZ training program.
- ANA opening balances and core hours – how this will be transferred to LTS and relevance in the next ANA discussions.
Outcomes
Key outcomes of this session:
- PC2 and PC4, and what constitutes acceptable evidence for these 2 PC values in particular.
- The SAICA requirements around acceptable evidence for both the PC Values and the other professional skills.
- The SAICA decision trees and how to make the right selections when using them.
- Understand the difference between basic and advanced complexity levels.

- Know the relevant PwC & ICAZ ANA timeline requirements and responsibilities of the role-player (trainees, evaluators and assessors)
- How to effectively use your LTS reports to monitor your training programme
- Know when a trainee can be discharged from his/her training contract and LTS requirements regarding relevant evidence and documents.
- The process to transfer your monthly core hours to LTS and impact during the ANA discussion

CA2025 Training
SAICA EAT: Formative and Summative Assessments
- Practical tutorial on how to submit formative assessments/LOR’s with specific focus on the role of the trainee and the role of the reviewer. Includes examples as part of the session.
- Demonstration of what the quality of the evidence submitted by the trainee must look like.
